Fall in Canmore brings the leaves, the snow, outdoor activities, and events for everyone. Our fall guide highlights some of the fall fun to enjoy this season. One of the great things about living in Canmore is the year-round sense of community, showcased in a spectacular mountain setting.

Canmore Christmas Artisan’s Market

Over 85 artisans are presenting handmade items at this year’s Christmas market. Get your shopping done early, browsing the displays of jewellery, paintings, furniture, custom fashions, soap & beauty items, and more. The $3 admission goes to support the Canmore Preschool Society.

The Banff Legacy Trail

Built it 2010, the Legacy Trail commemorates 125 years of Parks Canada. This beautiful bike trail, which stretches from Canmore to Banff, is especially lovely in the fall. The trail measures 26 km and weaves through woodland areas. Check on trail conditions before you leave! This blogger chronicles biking the Legacy Trail with kids.

Moose Tours

Did you know fall is one of the best times to spot moose? These majestic creatures are incredible to see in person. Book a tour with one of the wildlife tour operators in town,  or plan your own scenic day trip. Remember, wildlife are just that—wild. Don’t approach or try to feed wildlife.

Something for Everyone

Canmore’s home to exciting events and community activities year-round! If you like being at the centre of the action, consider a home in the Town Centre/Railway neighbourhood. Prefer a quieter area? Many Canmore neighbourhoods are mature and established, with serene natural views. There’s something for everyone when it comes to fall in Canmore—and the rest of the seasons, too!
